Professional advisers

Xplan allows you to record two types of professional adviser - companies and individuals.  The vast majority of professional adviser records are set up as companies.  To simplify the fact find process, we will therefore create all new professional advisers as companies.

Whether a user can create a new professional adviser will depend on the user capability “Add/Remove Professional Adviser”.  If a user does not have this capability, they will only be able to link a professional adviser to a client if the adviser already exists in Xplan.

If you have recorded professional advisers as an individual, we will still show them on this screen.

We want to encourage users to reuse professional adviser records where possible rather than create duplicates. For that reason, we default the first question on this page (“What would you like to add?”) to “An existing adviser” rather than “A new adviser”. 

The adviser’s name field is a search field.  Just start typing and it will locate any matching professional adviser records that you have access to.

If any edits are required to the professional adviser record, this must be done in the Professional Adviser management screens within Xplan, which sit outside the enhanced fact find.
