                           Docusign FAQ's

What Docusign Product does the integration link to?

  • We are connecting to the Docusign eSignature service.

Do I have to have a Docusign account already?

  • Yes, you need a Docusign account to connect to your Xplan account.  If you don’t have one already Iress can help you fast-track this request via the partner program - how to request this is illustrated here.

Can I use Docusign and the Iress Digital signature or is it one or the other?

  • You can continue to use the digital signature and enable Docusign.  Please note that Docusign status updates are not surfaced in the Digital Signature Hub at this time.

Does the Docusign Integration work with the Client Portal?

  • Docnotes that have been set for visibility in the portal will continue to be visible but you cannot initiate e-signing with Docusign from the client portal at this time.

Can I connect more than one Xplan account to one Docusign account?

  • Yes, you can.  You can connect multiple Xplan entities to one Docusign account - but you cannot connect one Xplan entity to more than one Docusign account

Can we link multiple Docusign accounts to our Xplan site?

  • Yes, each Xplan user can link their own Docusign account to their Xplan user profile i.e. everyone will need their own Docusign account/login.

How much does Iress charge for this integration?

  • Iress does not charge for this integration in its current format.  However, we may choose to offer a feature-rich, paid-for connection at a future point in time.

There are different versions of e-signing, from ‘Personal’ to ‘Business Pro’, will the integration work with all of them?

  • Yes - Iress will connect to all of them, but please note that the data sent in this version might not contain all the necessary information to automatically trigger higher-end functions on the more expensive versions of Docusign.

I have multiple docusign profiles under my account will that be a problem?

  • Iress can only connect to one Docusign account at a time.  If you have multiple accounts set up under one Docusign profile, we will send documents to the 'default' account that you have defined in Docusign.
Further to that when we redirect you to Docusign you will land in the default account - unless you are already signed into another one of your accounts - in which case you would need to switch the current profile to the default profile in Docusign.

What happens if I accidentally link the Iress Xplan integration to the wrong Docusign account?

  • There is the option in the solution to revoke the connection and link to another in the top right of the 'send to docusign screen'.  You can also use this to relink your Xplan User account to the new default account if you have made a change in Docusign.

What are the different Docusign statuses that I might see against a docnote?

Sent to Docusign

You have successfully sent the docnote and attachments to your Docusign account

Signed in Docusign

All signers have signed the Docusign envelope and the results have been stored as attachments in Xplan

Voided

The envelope has expired at Docusign or one of the signers has rejected it

Failed to Load

The document that was returned failed the Iress security checks (this situation would be very unlikely)

How big a file can be sent to Docusign?

  • Xplan can handle huge documents (600mb) Docusign less so due to their onward processing requirements.  Docusign advise that the optimal file size is <5mb with a ceiling of 25mb - however once individual attachments are encrypted their size will increase slightly.

Can I enable Docusign on the entire site?

At this time, enablement must be done per user group and cannot be enabled at a site level.

Will my reminders and expiration settings work when sent from Xplan ?

Yes, following a recent update, envelopes that are sent from within Xplan will now be governed by what has been defined by the Docusign user, if preferences have not been defined at user level the Docusign default values will apply.  More information can be found in the following community article
