Since releasing our latest Xplan product roadmap, we’ve been loving the engagement across the community. You’ve challenged us with candid questions about costs, external AI integrations, roll-out flexibility, and feature timelines.
Your feedback directly shapes our direction, so we wanted to bring all those answers together in one place.
Whether you’re wondering how to prep your data today, or where to find training materials, we’ve got you covered below. 👇️
How much will the new features, especially the meeting AI, data finding etc showcased in the roadmap cost?
In the roadmap, we showcased some initial features that are currently in the build phase. In this phase, we are still finalising the pricing structure.
What we can tell you is that our primary goal is to drive significant time-saving and efficiency back into your business. Every feature, from the conversational search to the automated meeting tools, is designed to eliminate manual admin and double-handling.
When we do lock in the details, we will ensure that any cost is directly reflective of the tangible value and ROI delivered to your business.
As you are building your own AI tools, will you still consider integrating with AI providers (e.g. filenoteai, paradino, marloo, Faybl, Clara's)?
We believe the true potential of AI comes from being built directly into the core of Xplan. As it sits natively inside your CRM, the AI will uniquely understand your client data, compliance workflows, and history without needing to bridge different systems.
We also understand that other specialised tools sit within our clients' existing tech stacks. To support this, we are currently in active conversations with several external AI providers to explore integration opportunities where there is clear alignment in both function and values. This ensures that data security, compliance standards, and practice efficiency remain uncompromised.
Our priority is to ensure you have the most streamlined, effective workflow possible, irrespective of whether that relies on our native tools or external ecosystem partners.
When will we know when these features will be delivered?
We are rolling out the first phase of the future of Xplan in Q3, which includes the adviser workspace, data findability, smarter meeting tools and the Client Portal UX uplift.
To stay fully informed on feature releases, please keep an eye on the Roadmap Hub in Iress Community and follow the Xplan Hub for the latest updates.
All release information, product updates and any feature previews, as well as delivery timeline, will be found on Iress Community. By following these hubs, your team will receive visibility when each feature is released, ensuring your practice is ready and positioned to adopt them as soon as they become available.
Do we need to do anything now to get ready for these features?
There is nothing you need to configure right now. As these updates are being built directly into the platform, we will handle the heavy lifting behind the scenes ahead of the launch.
However, because AI-driven tools thrive on quality information, the best way your practice can prepare today is to focus on good data hygiene.
Ensuring your client profiles are accurate, file notes are up to date, and data fields are cleanly filled out so that when these innovative features like Natural Language Search and automated Meeting Tools go live, your AI tools will hit the ground running with the best possible context.
As we get closer to the release, we will provide plenty of training materials, videos, and guides so your team is fully supported through the transition.
I have staff in my practice who are not Xplan users and don't have access to Community. How can I keep them up to date?
You can keep your entire team up to date by having them register on Community via this page with their Xplan license.
While a Community account does require an active Xplan license, anyone in your practice can join Advisely. It’s completely free and open to anyone!
Once they log into Advisely, they’ll have access to our latest roadmap news and announcements in Xplan Hub which ensures your entire practice is fully informed and ready for the new features ahead of the official release.
What happened to your AI pilot last year?
The AI pilot we ran last year was a vital step in our journey - it didn't get dropped, it successfully evolved!
We deliberately designed that pilot to test capabilities, gather user feedback, and understand exactly how AI behaves in a live advice environment. The real-world learnings from that pilot directly shaped, matured and became the foundation for the core features we are building today.
What happened to XBI last year?
Just like our AI pilot, XBI provided us with invaluable insights. The feedback from our users was clear: while you loved having deeper insights into your business data, a standalone reporting tool wasn't enough. You didn't just want a system that surfaced information, you wanted a system that allowed you to immediately take action on it.
We’ve taken those core learnings and evolved them directly into our new roadmap. Instead of keeping data analytics in a separate silo, we are embedding those smart data-surfacing capabilities straight into your new workspace and natural language search.
Now, Xplan won't just highlight an exception or a data gap; it will give you the tools to fix it, run a task, or update a client file right then and there. It’s all the intelligence we planned for XBI, but delivered exactly where you need it to drive daily practice efficiency.
How can we provide feedback on these features and/or Xplan?
We love getting feedback, and there are a few ways to share your thoughts with us!
You can reach out to your Relationship Manager, who is ready to chat and pass your ideas to our product teams.
Alternatively, you can log your feedback online through Iress Connect, or request a phone call if you prefer to chat with us over the phone.
Will these new features, like workspace, be optional for adoption?
Absolutely! While these new tools are available to everyone, they are not built to replace your existing Xplan functionality. Rather, they are designed to enhance it. We completely respect that every practice has its own established workflows and speed of adapting to change.
To ensure minimal disruption to your current tools, your existing modules, dashboards, and configurations remain unchanged. If your team prefers to keep working exactly the way they do today, they can absolutely do so.
The new Workspace, Natural Language Search, and Meeting Tools will sit alongside your current system as an opt-in experience. This allows your practice to explore the features and adopt them at your own pace whenever your team is ready.
Ultimately, think of these updates as a powerful efficiency layer built on top of the Xplan foundation you already use. It’s there to help you save time when you want it, without disrupting the stability your business needs.
