Overview

If you're on one of the following managed Xplan sites, we have some great improvements coming relating to our valuation since inception solution.  You can check the URL of your Xplan site in your browser:

We’re releasing a series of improvements to the ‘Valuation since inception’ report.  We’ve taken a lot of feedback from many of you in terms of what you need from a valuation report, in terms of content, structure and formatting.

This also means we will be removing some of the old report versions, so that it’s far easier for you and your teams to locate the current, up to date version of this report.  As our latest version, this new version will be the only ‘since inception’ report we’ll be maintaining and enhancing.

Key features

• Refreshed wizard (on screen user process) which responds to a range of user feedback, including improved help text - guidance when you need it most
• For users of the current ‘Valuation Report Generator’, this new report will introduce styling options to allow you to format the output of the report - including font type, table style, colours and logo.
• Additional data is now optionally available to share with your clients, including profit / loss and contributions / withdrawals, which will also be reflected in plan types such as liabilities and SIPP wrappers.
• A range of other improvements, based on your feedback, which we outline here.

When will the change take effect?

We will implement the changes on the following dates: -

• ThreeSixty - 21 June
• XplanCentral  - 22 June
• XplanCentral1 - 26 June
• XplanCentral2 - 27 June

What will change?

Details of the improvements we’ll be making will be described nearer the time, but the key points for you to be aware of are: -

• The new Valuation since inception report will be made available on the date described above for your site alongside the Valuation Report Generator wizard.  You’ll be able to start using it immediately.
• As a commonly used feature of your site, we’re also moving the Valuation since inception report up a level in the menu, so that it’s easier and quicker to locate.
• We will also be updating the Valuation Report Generator wizard to reflect that it will no longer be available from 1 August 2023.  This is to give you time to familiarise yourself with this current version and to finish off any in flight reports.  The Valuation Report Generator, which most of you currently use, will remain alongside the new since inception report until 1 August.

What action do I need to take?

When the new report is available on your site, we strongly recommend that you run a sample report against a client with a representative set of holdings and positions, using the new wizard.  We will let you know when all of the sites have been updated and provide further detail on what we've changed.  Running a report against one of your clients will enable you to see the effect of the default styling settings, layout and content, making it much easier to understand what changes you’d like to make. 

Nearer the time, we'll also let you know how you request styling changes, if applicable.

We’re confident that these changes will make generating valuations in Xplan much more intuitive and create the professional output you are looking for.
