Purpose of this email template

Xplan’s new navigation becomes standard for all users

Throughout 2019, in direct response to user feedback and following twelve months of user input and testing, we introduced a new Xplan navigation making Xplan more efficient, intuitive and easier to use. Across different version releases, users were given the option to continue using the classic Xplan navigation or use the new navigation, with 90% choosing the new. During 2019 the changes were rolled out in stages:

• in our April 2019 release (19.4) the new navigation a set of users were introduced to the new Xplan navigation in preview mode.
• in our August 2019 release (19.8.80) the new navigation became the default, and users had the option to toggle back to the classic navigation.
• in our December 2019 Release (19.11.98), the new navigation became standard for all users, with the classic navigation removed.

What this means for users

• If you are upgrading to a version between 19.4 19.8.80, your users will now have the option to toggle on the new navigation and have access to the Iress Community.
• If you are upgrading to a version between 19.8.80 and 19.11.98, your users will use the new navigation by default, but will be able to toggle back to the classic navigation and have access to the Iress Community.
• If you are upgrading to version 19.11.98 or later, your users will use the new navigation and have access to the Iress Community.

Helping your users prepare for the change

For your convenience, we have drafted a message you can use to communicate the change to your users. This email template is suitable for all sites upgrading to versions between 19.4 and 19.11.97. 

We highly recommend you communicate the change directly to your users in advance of the upgrade date you've selected. Doing this will mean those operating in classic navigation can access the resources ahead of the upgrade.

Xplan’s new navigation 

Iress has made significant improvements to Xplan’s navigation in direct response to feedback from users and following twelve months of user input and testing, as part of Iress Labs. 

The main improvements include:

• menu options that are based on how users work, so you can navigate around Xplan more intuitively
• an improved search function so you can find clients, accounts, documents and everything else within Xplan more easily
• a bookmark function so you can get to frequently accessed modules faster
• direct access to the Iress Community -  a single source of Xplan information including searchable help, release notes, training videos, real-time updates, and access to Xplan experts, and tips and tricks from other Xplan users.

Xplan’s new navigation becomes available for all users

On {DATE}, we will be upgrading to Xplan version {VERSION NUMBER} and the new Xplan navigation will be the default. You will also have access to the Iress Community - a single source of Xplan information including searchable help, training videos, real-time updates and access to Xplan product experts and tips and tricks from other Xplan users.   

When we upgrade in future to version 19.12 or later, the new navigation view will become standard for all users, with the classic navigation option removed. 

In the meantime on version 19.11, you are able to toggle between the two navigation experiences if you wish (go to My Preferences, and then click on the button to change your Labs preference to Yes or No).
