Purpose of this email template

Xplan’s new navigation becomes standard for all users

In previous 2019 Xplan releases (versions 19.4 in April and 19.8 in August), users have been given the option to with the new navigation or continue using classic navigation, with most users having chosen the new navigation.

In Xplan version 19.12 (released on Friday 6 December), the new navigation view became standard for all users with the classic navigation option removed.

What this means for users

• Users already using the new navigation will experience no change, aside from not being able to switch back to the classic navigation.
• Users operating in the classic navigation will be automatically switched over to the new navigation (and have access to the Iress Community) when your site is upgraded to Xplan version 19.12.

Who the change is relevant to

This email template is suitable for all sites upgrading to version 19.12 or later. We highly recommend you communicate the change directly to your users in advance of the version 19.12 upgrade on the date you've selected. Doing this will mean those operating in classic navigation can access the resources ahead of the upgrade.

Xplan’s new navigation 

Iress has made significant improvements to Xplan’s navigation in direct response to feedback from users and following twelve months of user input and testing, as part of Iress Labs. 

The main improvements include:

• menu options that are based on how users work, so you can navigate around Xplan more intuitively
• an improved search function so you can find clients, accounts, documents and everything else within Xplan more easily
• a bookmark function so you can get to frequently accessed modules faster
• direct access to the Iress Community -  a single source of Xplan information including searchable help, release notes, training videos, real-time updates, and access to Xplan experts, and tips and tricks from other Xplan users.

In the Xplan's 19.12 version, the new navigation view will become standard for all users with the classic navigation option removed.

Helping you prepare for the change

Over the past several weeks, users still operating in the classic navigation have been receiving notifications on the Xplan log-in screen to notify them of the change to the new navigation in version 19.12.

There are some helpful resources to assist anyone still operating in the classic navigation become familiar with the new navigation (and the Iress Community) in advance of the upgrade to version 19.12.
