Did you attend our Roadmap session earlier in the year, where we told you about all the new Xplan features we’re building? This is what we’re calling Xplan Evolution.
If you want to keep an eye on what is coming, follow this link for our ongoing updates on the roadmap.
As the Xplan Evolution features rollout, we want to help you plan ahead so your team has the smoothest experience possible. We suggest taking a moment now to review your existing user profiles and access levels.
We have all done it, ticked on a new capability just for one person, but now is the time to review the alignment. When we release new features and functions in Xplan, we want it to be a simple tick for all of users on that access level, rather than trying to pick who should be given the capability.Â
Why access levels matter
Access levels are used to manage predefined sets of capabilities for entities with access to Xplan. When creating a new user you select an access level and all the capabilities in the access level are mass enabled. For current users, with one tick, all of the users with the access level are updated.
Here’s a reminder why setting up proper access levels makes day-to-day life easier for your whole team.
Keeping data safe and private: You only want people updating what they should have access to. Who can update TFN’s? Who can delete information, or update your system assumptions?
Clearing out the clutter: Xplan can feel overwhelming if every feature and function is visible.Â
Protecting core site settings: It prevents well-meaning team members from accidentally breaking global setups, master advice templates, or system-wide preferences reserved for Site Administrators.
Making team updates painless: When someone joins, moves roles, or leaves, standardised access levels mean you can grant, or safely remove, permissions in seconds rather than tweaking settings one by one.
