Did you know you can have Xplan automatically send personalised birthday messages to your clients without lifting a finger?
Why?
Sending a personalised birthday message can deepen your connection or even reconnect with a client you haven't spoken to in a while. Plus, by tailoring the message to their specific life stage (like a retirement health check for those hitting 60), you can subtly expand your service offering while delivering genuine value.
Manually running a report every morning to see whose birthday it is, and then manually sending an email, is a poor use of an adviser's (or admin's) time. BUT with Scheduler, you can automate this process ensuring a consistent "personal touch" while allowing you to focus on the actual advice.
How?
- The Search: Create an Advanced Search using the criteria
[Key Details] Birthday is Today. - The Message: Build an Email or SMS Template. Use Xmerge syntax like
<:=$recipient.first_name:> to keep it personal. - The Magic: Use Scheduler to tie them together. Set it to run daily at 8:00 am, select your saved search as the first step, and your template as the second. Enable it, and you're officially the most thoughtful (and efficient) adviser in the room.
Pro Tip
💡 Use Conditional Syntax to make your messages age-appropriate. You can use code like <:if 20 <= int($recipient.age) and int($recipient.age) <= 30:> to insert a specific message for your younger accumulators, while sending a completely different "Happy 65th" message to those nearing retirement - all within the same template!
💡Before you enable the schedule, remember that Xplan is only as good as its data. Run your "Birthdays Today" search manually first to see if you have any clients with missing birth dates or, worse, placeholder dates like 01/01/1900. ….automating a "Happy 125th Birthday" message is definitely one way to ensure your client connection backfires!
