Bulk import - User data

Hi Team,

We do bulk imports (override and append) for clients on a daily basis, but has never tried it for maintaining User data. And since I was tasked to update a field (Region Manager Name) for all users, I think doing a bulk override would be the most practical way. But I can't seem to figure out the correct field key to use for the User Entity ID. Is there like a list of the correct Field Keys for the Users data source?

Hi Margaux,

If you’re just needing to update the Region Manager Name for multiple users, the easiest way is to use Modify All. It avoids having to work out field keys.

Here’s how to do it:

Go to your full User list.
Either tick the specific users you want to update, or leave them all unticked if you want to apply the change to everyone listed.
In the left menu, choose Functions > Modify All.
On the interface, choose whether you want to modify:
- Only selected users, or
- All listed users
In the Function filed, set it to Change…To….
Scroll to and select [User Detail] Regional Manager.
Search and select the user you want to assign as the Regional Manager.
Click Run to apply the update!

This is usually much quicker than preparing a bulk import, and avoids having to identify the correct fields. There is no undo button, therefore I always recommend testing the update against one user to ensure the expected outcome is achieved.

Thanks @jaclyn.bazin4, the bulk Modify all was our last option (still not ideal since we would still have to tick/untick users and do it several times given that we have different Managers/teams). But we were able to do it via bulk import in the end, which was a lot quicker 😊
