Overview

We have enabled automatic client username generation in Xplan, making it easier for you to grant your clients access to Client Portal.  

The change has been applied to the following Essentials sites in the UK region (please check the URL of your Xplan site in your browser if you are unsure whether this applies to you):

• XplanCentral
• XplanCentral1
• XplanCentral2
• ThreeSixty

What has changed?

Client Portal user names

Previously, client user names were not being pre-populated when clients were set up for Client Portal.

We have enabled automatic username generation, so that when you create a login for your client, the user name will automatically populate.

You still have the opportunity to overtype the default if required.

The format of the user name is now First name.Last name + unique number - e.g. fred.bloggs3.

Password generation

When a new account is created, it is now possible to optionally generate a random password, saving you the trouble of thinking up a password which will meet security requirements.   

We have also implemented best practice by ensuring that the temporary password you set up - whether manually or randomly - must be changed on first login.
