Terms of use

It's recommended that terms of use are added into your Client Portal, so that when clients log in for the first time, they are asked to accept these terms before proceeding to use the site.

If your terms of use change in some way over time, then the Portal also knows that it needs to ask your client to accept the new terms of use.

This change is to expose the area of the Xplan client record, where you can view the terms your client has accepted.

What's changing?

The Essentials team is adding a new page within the Servicing > Client Access menu, called "Site terms acceptance".

When the page is viewed, a history of the site terms the client has accepted will appear in up to two tables - one for the client and one for their partner.

The page will always be displayed, not just when access is active.  This is because if the client has access, accepts terms and then access is disabled, you will still need to view what terms they accepted in the event of a query.

What action do I need to take?

You do not need to take any action, the change will be visible on your site from late on 12 March or early on 13 March 2024.

This change is retrospective, so it will show you what terms of use your client has accepted historically.

Factfind status page

To make it easier to manage access to the Client Portal fact find, we have added a new page onto the following sites: -

  • XplanCentral
  • XplanCentral1
  • XplanCentral2
  • ThreeSixty

Previously, to enable the fact find via Client Portal on both the client and the partner, you had to go into the Client Access > Access page first, edit the page, set the Fact find status field to "Unlocked" and then the Factfind Type field to "Full onboarding".  You then had to repeat those steps on the Partner Access > Access page.

Now, when there is a partner present with Client Access enabled, a new Factfind status page appears, allowing you to unlock the fact find and set the type for both individuals at the same time.
