How to: Register for / Sign in to the Iress Community from Xplan

Introduction

Welcome to the Iress Community. This community is for users of Iress Software. In this article, we will detail how you can toggle on the new Xplan navigation and register for the Iress Community. 

 

Minimum Requirements

Right now, Iress software users on Xplan version 19.4.64 and onwards and who have toggled on the new Xplan Navigation can sign up to use the community. If you are not yet on this version please ask your Xplan administrator when you will upgrade.

If you are on a version between 18.4 and 19.4, you are still able to experience the new navigation however this is controlled by a toggle against user groups which needs to be turned on by your site administrator.

A video is available for the full journey from toggling on the new Navigation to registering and signing in to the Community. The video has no sound however if you prefer, please continue to read below  where we have detailed the written steps for you. 

 

 

New Xplan Navigation

The main improvements the new navigation delivers include:

  • menu options that are based on how users work, so users can navigate around Xplan more intuitively
  • an improved search function so users can find clients, accounts, documents and everything else within Xplan more easily 
  • a bookmark function so users can get to frequently accessed modules faster, and
  • direct access to the new Iress Community (more on this below).

 

Once you are on an applicable Xplan version, you will see a banner at the top of the screen asking you if you wish to try the new navigation. Select Try now to toggle on the new navigation. Should you need to toggle off the new navigation, you can do so within your preferences. Once in the new navigation, you’ll see that your menus have changed but we have added some handy tours and videos to show you around. Further information and the ability to feed back about the new navigation is available once you register for the Iress Community. 

 

Iress Community

 

To register:

  1. Log in to Xplan and ensure you have toggled on the new Xplan navigation
  2. Click on Help via Iress Community
  3. Click the Register link at the top of any page. If you don't start in Xplan you will not be able to register as the community verifies you hold an Xplan license.
  4. Complete your details to register for an Iress Community username login. Your username is a combination of your first name and last name.This is your screen name in the community. It appears whenever you post messages. Iress will provide you with a username that you cannot change. No usernames are anonymous, to give the rest of the community transparency of who they are communicating with.
  5. You will receive an email with your username, and a link to verify your email address. Click on the link to verify your email and set a password.
  6. Once you're in the community complete the mandatory details to start using the community.

 

Note: You must have cookies enabled in your browser to register and to sign in the community. After you've registered and confirmed your registration, you can sign in and start participating.

To sign in:

  1. Click Sign In at the top of any page.
  2. Enter your username and password that has been provided as part of the Community sign up. This does not necessarily match your Xplan login. 
  3. Click Sign In 

 

How to reset your password

  1. Click Sign In at the top of any page.
  2. Clien on "Need Help Signing In"
  3. Click on "Forgot Password"
  4. Enter your email and click on "Reset via Email"
  5. Check your email, click on "Reset Password" and enter a new password
  6. You can start using the community again

How to unlock your account

Your account is locked (you put the wrong password in too many times)

  1. Click Sign In at the top of any page.
  2. Click on "Need Help Signing In"
  3. Click on "Unlock account"
  4. Enter your email and click on "Reset via Email"
  5. Check your email, click on "Unlock Account" 
  6. You can now reset your password using the steps above so you can start using the community again
